Since I was born and raised in Hong Kong, I had a season of homesickness while I was still in New York. For my first Studio Final in freshman year, I found an opportunity to recreate the lively night scene that was famous to my home city. I wanted to share what I found dear to me with my classmates as well.
Apart from researching and hand-painting various neon signs. The mirrored black acrylic at the back of the box created a sense of depth. From the remainders of that piece, I laser-cut a handful of local window designs to add a subtle but important detail of the Hong Kong night scene.
